HALLOWEEN in the library

charcoal illustrated posters

Posters and signs made for the Tompkins Cortland Community College library to engage passerby’s in reading the library books. I made spooky charcoal drawings, and made posters using calligraphy and a font made by Carlotta Case. The Ghoul image was also featured in Ke’lab 2020.

process

  • Calligraphr was used to program Carlotta’s letters into a usable font.

  • Quotes from books were used for inspiration and the typography posters.

  • Reference images for charcoal illustrations were found on Wikimedia Commons and from An Atlas of Animal Anatomy for Artists by W. Ellenberger, H. Baum, H. Dittrich, and edited by Lewis S. Brown.
